Pat Carra, with her twin sister, was born in Parma in 1954. In 1978 she transmigrated to Milan. She published her first cartoons in the catalogue of the feminist bookshop Libreria delle donne: Le madri di tutte noi (the mothers of us all), the writers who opened up the way. Her favourite is Jane Austen. Cartooning the world seen by women and the women not seen by the world, she has worked for "Noi donne", "Cuore", "Smemoranda", Via Dogana", "Donna Moderna". Her cartoons are translated in Spain, Greece, Argentina and France.
